LEIGH &
DISTRICT FAMILY HISTORY SOCIETY HOME PAGE
Meetings take place in the Derby Room at Leigh Library. They start at 7.30 pm and are held on the third Tuesday of each month except June and July.
The winter session starts in August and usually takes the form of a Beginners’ Evening when members and newcomers are able to use the Group’s microfiche viewers and library facilities to carry out their own research.
Other meetings usually have a family history related speaker but members are always able to browse and borrow books from the Group’s library.
Members have been involved in many projects over the years. The first project was a compilation of the whereabouts for all church records for the whole of the area covered by Leigh & District and surrounding areas.
Monumental
Inscriptions recording is carried out regularly by members and the following
