James Gibson's Liverpool Epitaphs (C.D.)James Gibson's Liverpool Epitaphs (C.D.) Ref: UK-CD-JG
Gibson’s Epitaphs is one of the most important sources for the family historian, who is researching in 19th century Liverpool. The compiler of these volumes was probably James Gibson variously described as a merchant or draper,a native of Stirling who lived and worked in Liverpool for many years.During his time in Liverpool he had, in his own words, "... taken notes from all the churchyards and chapels in the district."
Completely transcribed containing an Index of over 10,000 names, taken from 56 Graveyards and Cemeteries, most of which no longer exist.

Index to the 1851 Census of Liverpool on Compact Disc
The Index on this CD-ROM has been compiled from the sixty individual volumes above, and contains over 400,000 entries.
Introduction :-1. This is an index of surnames after their transcription. In many cases the enumerator's handwriting (and spelling) is poor. Be prepared to find an entry under a name mistaken for the correct one.2. The index provides you with a clue as to which part of the original returns you should check. You should use the original Census to verify that the index refers to the individual or family of interest.3. The index not only gives the surname, piece and folio number, but also includes the given name, occupation and place of birth. Thus, it is possible to construct a hypothetical family unit by using the index only. It is hoped that this is helpful, but again the primary source must be checked.Note: With the exception of the original issue of Volume 02, in booklet form, the age of people has not been routinely indexed in Volumes 01 to 34, Piece No's HO 107/2176 to HO 107/2185 and blanks have been left in the age column for entries from these Pieces.4. Details of the Enumerator's Walks with a Street Index plus the following maps are included:(a) Liverpool Inner and Outer districts with a list of the PRO Piece No's involved
(b) Liverpool Inner District and Wards.
