Liverpool & S W Lancs F.H.S. Maps on C.D.

Ordnance Survey 60 inch Town Plan of Liverpool 1847 & 1864 Ref: OS-CD-MAP-5
This CD contains all 50 sheets of the Ordnance Survey 60 inch to 1 mile Town Plans of Liverpool. The Plans are in great detail and show every street drain grid and every lamp post. The representation of public buildings and churches is such that walls have thickness and internal details shown. The area covered by the maps include Kirkdale to the north round to Everton and Edge Hill with Toxteth and Dingle in the south.

The images were scanned from maps held at Liverpool Record Office with their kind help and permission. The maps measure 1m x 0.7m and are scanned in grayscale. The original set of plans are dated 1847. A second partial set of 27 sheets exists also dated 1847, but obviously later and thought to be 1864. the maps used are from the later set, augmented with ones from the original set.

The maps are accessed from a graphical index and you can move from one map to an adjacent one with a click of the mouse. You can view the maps at many times their normal size and copy, paste and print any chosen selection.
