Re: Private J B Salmon Somerset Light Infantry
Quick update. The gentleman has no direct living relatives 😢 He had a brother and two sisters all of whom had no issue. I think the medals will end up in a museum though. He also has a long service medal for a special constable, Walter Wildash Issued in 1929 and has a service bar for 1914-1918. I se...

Re: Private J B Salmon Somerset Light Infantry
Thank you so much.
I’ve sent my friend the info you found and contacted the tree owner.
I’m hoping there is a descendant that will be chuffed to bits to have his medals.
Many many thanks.

Re: Look up request
Thank you Mary, I did tap the details into Forces War Records and got a result. Not sure how much info they have but would be nice to see it. I'm going to write off for his service records anyway sometime soon. Knew 'Fred' from about 1987 when he was 80 right up to his death in 2006. Top man and a r...

It was 'In Memory of' and said she was with those Brownies 1940-1941 All I can find is a ...

Looking for someone alive
Hi There, I have tracked down a descendant of my great grandmother that I'd like to contact. I know his name and that of his wife and know roughly where they live. I've tried online searches on social media and telephone directories but no contact yet. Is there anyone on here with access to the curr...

Re: Military Records
Thanks all, the form mentioned is the one I used. Her mother just isn't too bothered about it - not enough to get it signed anyway. I met him when he was around 80 years old and always got on with him, but just like most others that served, they only seem to talk to each other about it. he was groun...

Hi There, I would like to find the service record / medal list for my wifes great uncle. I have the form required to send to the MOD but her mum now has it ( as next of kin ) and has either lost it or doesn't want to bother with it. Are there any other means to find out? He was born 1907 and died ag...

Re: Toxteth Park - Brown Family
Have you checked the marriage to see if either was widowed before they married? I'm assuming the marriage is to Elizabeth Langley in 1877 at St. Michael in the City but that's obviously just a guess. That was my guess as well. Thanks for the info. Some I hadn't found. I also made the assumption for...

Re: Birth details
Update on above - The cert arrived today and the birth date matches.
I can only assume this is my grandmother as the chances of someone else having the same name, area and DoB must be very slim.
