Hello to everyone. I hope you are all keeping well.
Does anyone know if the 1921 census will be released next year? It would be something to look forward to!
Cheers

Re: Irish in Ormskirk
Hi Dave
I'd be very interested to see your Scahill tree. Did your Mum's Mum live in Ormskirk?
Cheers

Re: Emily Woodfine
Hello Mary. Thanks for the suggestion but I'm not on Facebook. Although it's not a common name I've just realised that the bit of info I've had for ages is completely wrong - Emily's date of birth is way out for the family I found. Not only that, thanks to JohnnyO I'm pretty sure he found the right ...

Re: Emily Woodfine
Thank you so much Johnny O. I'm sure that will be her - it explains why there is no father's name - looks like her parents weren't married. Now to explore further!

Emily Woodfine
Hello all, Haven't posted for a while but still trying to chip away at the brick walls. My query concerns Emily Woodfine, born 1889, probably Lancashire. She married John Ball, a farmer, address Hundred End, on 5th June 1920. Her address is given as 10 King Street, Lostock Hall. There is no father r...

I tried looking for Anastasia Sophia Green but couldn't find anything. Where did your distant relative find the name?

Re: Anastacia Daly
Hi Laine I had a look at your tree on ancestry and it seems too much of a coincidence that Ann is recorded as being born in St John New Brunswick, the same as Anastacia. I have no idea whether it's possible to check Canadian birth registrations for that year but I'm prepared to bet there's someone o...

How spooky is this! I was only having another look for Anastacia the other day. I haven't managed to get much further forward so anything you can add will be a real bonus.
Thanks for joining in.

Many thanks to Daggers for passing on a plan and a photo of the relevant panel. They will be winging their way to my aunt any minute now.

That's wonderful! I really thought we were clutching at straws. You never cease to amaze me.
Many thanks, Mary. We'll be spending the rest of the afternoon taxing my husband's brains to see if anything rings a bell.
Thank you

Bentinck Street, Preston
Is there any way of finding information on the residents of Bentinck Street in the 50's and 60's? My husband remembers visiting two elderly ladies there but not much more. I know it's a long shot but I have every confidence in you all!
Many thanks

Roll of Honour Liverpool Town Hall
My great uncle, William A Barker was killed in France in September 1916. I believe all soldiers from Liverpool are commemorated in the Town Hall. However, when my aunt ( his niece ) went to look she couldn't locate his name and at the time there was no-one to ask. Is there any sort of plan or key to...

Re: Irish in Ormskirk
Hello Vincent Thank you very much for the additional information. I wonder if there is a connection between the Scahills and the Clarkes through the Johnsons? It's been a while since I've done any research in that area but your message has spurred me on to take a fresh look. Most of the Irish seem t...

Hi Dave Yes, I'm still here! I can't believe two years have passed since we were last in touch! I see my cousin, Ailsa's daughter every now and again when I'm in England. Ailsa is still around but getting on a bit now. I did mention you to her daughter who seemed to think you might already be in tou...

Re: needle in a haystack?
Just a quick update on Elizabeth Macdonald. It appears that the link to my cousin's family is through the Wealand line. My cousin's great grandmother was Elizabeth Wealand and was the sister of Elizabeth's mother, Margaret. I'm in the process of researching this family. I 'll keep you all up to date...

Re: needle in a haystack?
Bertie, I can't believe this! Wealands is one of the names in my cousin's family. You have cracked it in one. To say I'm gobsmacked is an understatement. I'm going to look at the rest of the family and figure out where this family fit in. Thank you so much, I thought this was a lost cause.

needle in a haystack?
I think this might be a bridge too far even for the super sleuths on here but here goes. A cousin of mine would love to find out more about a lady called Elizabeth Macdonald. She was always part of the family but my cousin doesn't know how or why. She may have been born around 1910 and possibly in t...

Secret life - tv
I've really enjoyed watching this short series on BBC 2 over the past few weeks. It brought the past alive and showed how chance played such a huge part in peoples' destinies. The last programme is on Sunday at 7pm. Secret life of My Family - I imagine you can find the other programmes on i-player. ...

Unusual name
I've just come across the gloriously named Savory Newman whilst researching something for a friend. Does anyone have any ideas about the origin of this (male) name?
Thanks in advance
