My non-attendance!

Hello peeps - it's been a very long time since I popped in to see what's going on. I've a very good reason (or two) I've been back & forth to spend time with hubby in Dubai but the best excuse is the arrival of Sebastian James on October 21st - our first grandchild. He is the love of my life.......I...

Gutted  Tried to set up and record it before I left yesterday but whatever it is we have won't let me set it up so far in advance. Hoping I can get it on YouTube as BBC iPlayer is only available here if you pay for it! I bet it'll be a cracker too!

Re: Who Do You Think You Are?... Indeed...humpf

Thanks Mary......Dubai isn't everyone's cuppa! I'm the one who told Gary "Well don't think I'll be coming to visit - it's a r***y building site full of Russian prostitutes"! Maybe in '95 it was but I can't get enough of it now! If he was based in Dublin I'd be spending all my time with my head stuck...

Hahaha.....possibly Sue (30kg allowance) Once I've transported all my tut over there I'll have room for "extras"! This next trip I'm going to keep tabs on the forum.....far better than the 800 TV channels available! Not so idyllic when you get sweaty bum cheek syndrome - not a good look! Temps accep...

Been way, way too long Gray! Spending a lot of time with the other half.......in Dubai! Been helping out some new buddies with ancestor hunting and had some very interesting searches......Sweden and U.S.A. included. The present interest has been in Dublin and I honestly thought I'd struggle but thin...

Cheers Simone......unfortunately can't get iPlayer there - well, you can but only the "naughty" way which I'm not au fait with at present! By the time I come home in Feb it'll be long gone! John Bishop is the only one I'll be upset at missing!

Absolutely gutted.....as I found John Barnes incredibly boring! Can't get into UK politics so stood no chance at all with Jamaica's! Am away for the supposed Dec 12th showing but will try to set the tele to record it. Not sure if it'll do it a few weeks in advance. Off to spend some time with hubby ...

Yes, we knew Violet remarried - to Frank Russell in 1932 BUT I'm intrigued by the 1940 marriage! Shall have to contact the lady they belong to! She is Violet's grandaughter. Just had my estimat...

Hi Susan, Frederick and Elizabeth married in Fulham register office. Do you think he said "widowed" rather than "divorced"? Not that it would matter in a registry office? I was fuddled not being able to find a death for first wife, Minnie. Now we know they divorced around 1895. Have requested detail...

Well......that's looking good as I couldn't find a death for Minnie Ody. On Elizabeth's son, Walter's, military records his father is George Frederick Ody and we know folk fiddled about with names! Shall have a look at this tomorrow as I'm dropping! Brings to light the question: Why did Frederick Ge...
