Just checked and find the recent search facility is still working for me. Hope they manage to sort you out.

Liverpool Records Office
Hi!
I would like to congratulate and thank Sue Kauffman at the LRO for the prompt attention to a query I sent, this was replied to within a couple of hours. I think we should show our appreciation to the LRO for the work they do.

Members only.
Is anybody else having trouble getting into the Members Only section? I think I am following the instructions given in the email acknowledgment of my membership subscription, but I am being told that my User Name and Password are not recognised. I have tried all variations but with no luck. Any advi...

Wow, that is expensive. Perhaps we should wait until is included in the subscription.

Re: flashing Icon
I think Erika might have the answer. I also get this "flashing" and when I checked I found it was happening where there was more than one page to the post.

Re: A reminder - to say thank you at the very least
Unfortunately this seems to be the trend these days and it is a pity that it is forcing you to give up answering emails. As you say it only takes a minute or so to say thank you. I always thank the girls in my local supermarket and they tell me that I am in a minority. Hopefully you will be able to ...

Thanks for that Mary. I have been looking for something like this for some time. Has anyone tried to print from the site? If so how do you do it?

Re: Liverpool Fruit Exchange - The One Show
My late wife worked in the Fruit Exchange building for a company called A J Mills. I remember all the horses and carts lined up outside with their loads of fruit. I also remember the Beaconsfield opposite the Fruit Exchange where the male staff from the Fruit Exchange drank.

Execution of a will
Can anyone tell me if there is any time restriction on how long the executors of a will have to complete their duties? I have what appears to be the sale of property by the executors of a will some thirty years after the death of the person involved. This seems a long time.

Re: St Lukes up for sale
Having lived through the war in Liverpool, I have always regarded St Lukes as a memorial to all the people who lost their lives in the blitz. I trust that if it is sold the new owners will bear this in mind.

Thanks to Mary for the tidy up.
I think a big thank you is due to Mary for all the work she puts into helping to run the forum and what she does for the society. Wish I had half her energy.
Best Wishes,

Re: Help with transcription please
St Thomas's church was in Warwick Street, Toxteth. About where Warwick Gardens now stand. Originally St Thomas's in the field, it was consecrated in 1841 and closed in 1937 to be amalgamated with St John the Baptist, Park Road. The beautiful altar was moved to a chapel in St Johns and is now, I thin...

Re: Arthur Walters Missing in 1901
Hi! Thanks to Bert and DS for your interest. It would appear that the transcribers had problems reading the enumerators writing. Using the reference given by Bert, I found the transcription as Arthur W Walton, Wright Adjuster on another site. I did post a query regarding my Grandmother and her child...

Thanks Bert,
That's very helpful. However, I will need to shelve my suspicions about William Arthur Walters now.
