Wink Wink Nod Nod Looking back at the postings I see a census date has been changed to about. A bit slow on the uptake, but I usually get there in the end. Thanks once again for all who have contributed. I don't know how you keep up the enthusiasm in answering other people and their problems, but I ...

It is quite possible that Eva Peers was given up for adoption, even though she had a place in the Williams' home. Not a pleasant thought.
We will never know the reason, but I will be charitable and say that they were doing it for what they thought the best.

"All members need to be aware that offering look ups from copyright protected material is in direct contravention of the copyright law." This would be the unmentionable, I take it. Does that include passing on any information that we have found from the internet, i.e Latter day Saints, BMD records a...

Hello Tina I was visiting my Dad's area a couple of years ago when I was on holiday to the UK.. Just a part of Nesfield and Rubens remained and so I couldn't imagine what it originally looked like. Dad was a residential supporter of Gillingham Football Club, but a lifelong supporter of Liverpool, al...

Tina "Sabrina E Beavers rego 1st 1913 W Dby mothers maiden Williams Marr Sabrina George PRICE 1932 Lancs BMD " As Sarah Francis Williams married William Peers in 1903 and supposing William died in between times, one would think she would have used Peers as a maiden name, do you think, although she m...

Carol, I was hoping to send a copy of the Birth certificate of Eva Peers and marriage certificate of William and Sarah, but the reproduction was rather faint. The Birth certificate reads: Registration District: Liverpool Sub district: Mount Pleasant. 9 Oct 1903 Lying in Hospital Eva daughter of Will...

Hello Carol Thanks for the email. It is always satisfying when a connection is made from all of the names that we research. As I have mentioned in the Lancs forum, I first noticed Eva Peers as cousin in the 1911 census for George Williams’ family, which was a great help in establishing a real connec...

Thanks for the reply Colette The marriage certificate shows Edward Cooper and Elizabeth Vine as witnesses. No direct surnames with the couple unfortunately. Ellen age 18, address was 82 Lime Street . I believe I found this somewhere as being a hotel, but she didn't show up in the 1891 census. I can ...

Early 1940's Liverpool Street dircctories

At the risk of being a pest and further to my search for my grandmother Ellen nee Hinds married to George Williams on 25th Dec 1894 at the Church in the Parish of St., Simon, Liverpool, I would like to say, disregard this, as it leads to nowhere. I would however like readers to consider the letters ...

Sorry to have taken so long in replying to Brian and Hilary as I have been busy plastering and painting my Daughter's house. I am not qualified in either of these trades, but anything to save a few quid. Somewhat slowly I might add at 76. I have checked out National probate wills, but no luck. Still...

Thank you for your reply Brian As you can imagine tracing a George Williams from Liverpool has always been a challenge, not knowing if I had the correct one. It wasn’t until the 1911 census came out that I was convinced I had the right one, when a niece turned up, which led me back to George’s siste...

Thanks for the reply Dickiesam I didn't give any information on the marriage of George Williams age 22 Painter and Ellen Hinds 18 on 25th Dec 1894 at St Simons Liverpool, because I have already posted previously asking for help on finding Ellen and her father. The result being, as I have found, that...
