Ancestry's Family Tree Maker Software

Hello All Be advised if using O.S. XP, do not purchase FTM2014, they are not compatible. You cannot merge FTM with Ancestry. When you access records and then view you will be confronted with a black screen. I. E. is inbeded in FTM, and Ancestry have made changes to their site. There are no patches. ...

Hi
The nearest to 386 Scotland Rd is the pub called The Saddle Inn, which is numbered 381. Hope this helps! Also there is another pub with the same name if memory serves me right, on the corner of Vernon & Dale St.

Re: Anything but A.

Hello Ed Officer & again DS Sorry  I missed your replies. I will look into Gedcom as advised. My simple thinking is by editing in a new window (or system) I will be forced to look again at my previous input, and also add new material. I have by looking at my papers time and again found stuff o...

Re: Tithebarn St.

Hello Bert & DS I went to Liverpool myself to-day (giants and ships) I called into a pub which seemed to be numbered 18-16 Tithebarn St., with some waste land next door. The pub was called The Railway, a few yards down from a pub called The Lion. Across the road, facing the Railway pub was the old E...

They were on the "members interests". I tried to contact them using their e-mail addresses but had no reply. I thought it may be possible to contact them using P.M. but that does not seem to be the answer. What next I ask myself :)

Hi
I would second that about the Shipperies on Durning Rd, also there was a pub called the Strand on the main road on the corner across the road from the Liver Bldings.

Re: Rope Making

Hi I see he died at 77. He could have learned his trade in the navy. Would he have still been working in a hard job at 77? There was a rope works off Rathbone Rd. A lot of people in the Old Swan area worked there, one of the main employers in the area. If you key in "Rope works" an old picture shoul...

Re: Baptisms at St Patrick's RC Church, Park Place, Toxteth

Hi Pat Berry Re. Baptisms. St Malachy's Church covered the Dingle area, and not Toxteth. Darnley St. was formerly Albert St. If I may respectfully point out 58/58a Northumberland St (1913) sounds like a big house. In those days courts were the norm for dockers and labourers (unless he was running a ...

Re: Baptisms at St Patrick's RC Church, Park Place, Toxteth

Hi
The 1906 map of Toxteth is a help, but may I suggest to Pat Berry that if they have not tried it already, that going to http://www.liverpoolhistoryprojects.co.uk is a very helpful site. There they will find Liverpool BMD, maps with names of streets, churches, schools etc. Good hunting!
