Old Passport Applications
Does anyone know if it is possible to find an old passport application? My late Father travelled to America in 1925 but his passport that I have doesn't start till 1937. I think he may have had 2 previous passports and would love to find a record of these applications. Any help would be most appreci...

Re: Liverpool history 1920s
The General Strike is interesting and something I can definitely use, thanks.
My Dad was a flour packer for Bibbys. He didn't like it and I think this must be why he left for the States.

Re: Liverpool history 1920s
Thanks to everyone who has replied. I have the Lost Tribe of Everton, great book. I am writing about my late father's life in Liverpool and would like to include a section on the 1920s as this is when he left school and was working for 5 years before he left for America. I want to know what was goin...

Hello
Are there any historians out there? I would like to read about Liverpool in the 1920s but can't find anything on the web. Can anyone suggest any reading material or sites please?
thanks

Re: WWI war grave
I would like to say thank you to all the kind people who have taken the time to respond to my message regarding my Uncle's war grave search. I have been "blown away" by the number of replies and all the information which I will be following up.

Using this site
This is my second year of membership so I suppose that makes me a relative newcomer. I would like to say that I find this site difficult to use. It is full of abbreviations and things that mean nothing and I have never been able to find how to post the names I am searching for. I am no means a techn...

Travel records to Ireland from Liverpool
Can anyone tell me if it is possible to find travel records of ancestors who travelled from Liverpool to Ireland around 1900 and back again? Would they have travelled on a ship bound for Ireland or would Ireland have been a stop over on the way to America or Canada? Any help would be most appreciate...

Bibbys Liverpool, 1920s
Does anyone know anything about Bibbys? Not the shipping line, the other one. My Dad worked for them in the 1920s and I think he was a flour packer. If anyone can shed any light on this company it would be really helpful, thanks

Rainhill Hospital
Can't help wondering, when you say you received your great uncle's papers, are you referring to medical records from Rainhill Hospital? My mother was a patient there and I didn't know it was possible to obtain records. I thought the hospital had closed. Any help would be most appreciated

Does anyone know if the Home for Destitute Children at 19 & 21 Woodhouse Street Kirkdale Liverpool was still in existence after 1906? Miss Mary Hornby was the Superintendent.
