Re: Kinross Road, Waterloo
Well, I still don't know when my parents first lodged in Kinross Road! I have today received my late brother's B.C. which gives his place of birth as 51 Balliol Road, Bootle - I remember going to the swimming baths in that road, do they still exist? However, I do now have an address for my parents i...

Re: Kinross Road, Waterloo
Oh dear! Not Cyril's wife then. Never mind, I was only curious about his earlier life because of his connection with my parents, not because I particularly wanted to follow him up in detail. But I am glad I found his Merchant Navy record, because that could be a clue as to how Mum and Dad came to be...

Re: Kinross Road, Waterloo
Yes Tina - that is him. He appears in the 1911 census, too, showing as youngest of quite a brood - son of a Bookbinder. I have this morning found him on the Merchant Navy records - including a photo! - for the date range 1918 - 1921. His Identity Cert. is given as 424673, but there is no Discharge N...

Re: Kinross Road, Waterloo
Hilary, thank you so much, that is great - as soon as I saw his name on the list you sent, I immediately remembered that he was indeed Cyril Stubbs! As a child I always assumed he and Mary, whom my mother always referred to as Mary Mac, were married. Looks like they were not! So I am assuming that M...

Re: Kinross Road, Waterloo
A helpful suggestion was made to me, via a pm, that I send for my brother's Birth Cert. which should give my parents' address in 1934. Sending for the BC had not occurred to me as obviously I know the relevant names that would be on it - hadn't considered the address!! My brother died a few years ag...

Re: Kinross Road, Waterloo
I had thought I had just submitted a reply to Hilary, but I seemed to have got up in 'Review your post' situation and am stuck! Here goes again! Thank you Hilary for your kind offer. Cyril and Mary would have still been living in Kinross Road into the 1940s, as I remember visiting them as a child, a...

Re: Kinross Road, Waterloo
Blue, Many thanks for your speedy reply. Unfortunately, none of the names 'rings a bell'. I may be mistaken about the first names of the couple - although I do remember my mother referring to someone whom she called 'Mary Mac'. Never mind, I was only trying to add more info. to my Everett Family Tre...

Kinross Road, Waterloo
Hello Everyone - my first post here! Would anyone be able to point me in the right direction to find names of people who lived in Kinross Road in the 1930s, please? My parents, William Everett and Ellen Ward were married on 7 June 1933 at St. Sebastien's Church, Lockerby Road, Fairfield. I don't kno...
