Re: Finding Ethel Green
Hi everyone, Many sincere apologies for replying to my post. After a close family illness leading to bereavement, I feel I am finally ready to 'get back onto the horse' genealogy wise. Thank you to everyone for your advice. Most of the information that I have discovered about Ethel is rather conflic...

Finding Ethel Green
Hiya, I am wondering if anyone can help in any way. My dads' maternal grandmother was Ethel Green (nee Barton), born 20.09.1901 and died 26.12.1984. Due to family disputes, she left her body for medical research but apparently when the time came for her body to be "used", they discovered her body wa...

Re: Agnes Bankier in 1881
Hiya Tracey, No worries, I know that not everyone checks their computer every day. I guess that I am a bit excited as I am a newcomer to the forum and have found a few possible connections to my family. Alexander Bankier was married to Eliza Peers (my mums' granddad, their son, was Alexander Ellis)....

Re: Agnes Bankier in 1881
Hiya, I am related to Agnes Bankier (nee Murray) through her son Alexander Bankier (my second g.grandfather). He married Eliza Peers and had twelve children, one of whom was Alexander Ellis. Alexander married Emma Parker (my namesake) and one of their children was my granddad George (my mums' dad). ...

Re: RMS Laconia 1942
Hiya Katie,
Thanks again. I will definitely try to pay a visit, I would have to book a day off or wait until I am off work. Can't wait to see the new building!

Re: RMS Laconia 1942
Hiya Katie, Thanks for your info, I will definitely be paying a visit when it opens. I have a couple of group photos of Tommy and a couple of crew members but we're not quite sure which one of them he is. We also have a (not too flattering) painting of him in his uniform so a photo will be fantastic...

Re: RMS Laconia 1942
Hiya, My grandads' brother Thomas Bankier served and was lost onboard the Laconia in 1942. I have visited the Tower Hill memorial in London a few times and have many photos if anyone would like to see them. I also have copies of books regarding the Laconia including the book by Rev. Frederick Grossm...
