Research in India
Tracing through INDIA
Came across this site recently and found it very helpful. There is also an opportunity for a free book download. Its not junk ! It is a very helpful tool and is far more than a pamphlet !
It must be remembered that 'India' pre 1947 included what is now Pakistan, also includes Sri Lanka (Ceylon) and BanglaDesh.
If you have an ancestor who worked for the East Indian shipping Co then this site could prove invaluable for you. Many diverse links off from the main pages.
