Thanks Katie. I knew it rang bells for me because last year I had a mental word association.... I kept thinking of Thomas Crapper, the famous toilet hardware developer!

So, it looks like Frank Kent Cropper married twice and each time gave Thomas as his father. Can't be a coincidence of names can it?

We all try to avoid shelling out for certificates if we can, but sometimes its the only way forward. I applied for one for a Charles Henry Laugharne after 15yrs hoping that the answer will come without me paying, but in order to try and solve my Brickwall, I took the plunge.

thanks for all your hard work folks , looks like I`ll have to bite the bullet and get the cert if I`m to go any further . probably chasing a red herring with the workhouse on family search . thanks again for all your hard work.
