1861 missing Burnett in Toxteth or Liverpool

My ancestor James BURNETT died 13 Dec 1877 at 12 Rankin Street, Toxteth after an accidental fall into a graving dock and was buried at Toxteth Cemetery.

In 1871 he was living with his family at 13 house, 4 court, Blair Street, Toxteth indicating he is a shipwright born in Scotland.

The 1861 census entry appears to be missing!

His marriage on 10 Dec 1860 to Mary Howard took place at St Paul, Liverpool but their address is only listed as Liverpool (no street given).

In 1851 James is living at his parents (James and Elizabeth) household of 8 house, 8 court, Mann Street, Toxteth

The 1841 census shows the family living at South Side, New Bird Street, Liverpool.

James may have been baptised at St Patrick, Toxteth on 29 May 1842 with a birth date of 03 May 1835 given.

his sister Margaret's birth certificate (in 1847) indicates the mother's maiden name as PEARSON.

Their address at this time was listed as No. 5 court, Ashley Street, Toxteth!

I was looking for an indication in your post as to his age - apart from the "possible" baptism, which I would suspect might be right if young James has a sister by name of Margaret, but I'm having difficulty finding any of the censuses you quote and haven't given any references.

I thought maybe Mary Burnett b c 1833 living and working as a servant for the Laidlaw family may be her. She is down as married but no sign of a husband. However the marriage states she was a minor in 1860 so maybe not her then

Sorry! Yes his age at death was listed as 42 years!

His wife Mary was born 02 April 1841 at 2 Chester Place, Blair Street, Toxteth. She went on to marry William James WILSON in 1879 and is living at 10 Rankin Street, Toxteth in 1881.

Their daughter Johanna went on to marry John Winckle in 1880; William I suspect married Christina JONES in 1889; Jane sadly died in 1874 it seems but I'm not sure what happened to John.

The Norfolk St 1861 census, Burnett clan, I suspect are the parents of James and his Liverpool born siblings!
