In the note I referred to your interest in Ennis. Does Margaret Ellen Ennis ring any bells?
Alice Parle was William Joseph Ennis's partner - can't say wife as I've never found a marriage for them, and they began having children in Liverpool in 1896, I believe a total of 11 in all, the last one being 1917 ..... strange that William Joseph died in 1911
He was born in 1876 in Ireland (Dublin I believe), with a total of nine children to Patrick Joseph Ennis and Ellen Irons. But sorry, I don't have any by name of Margaret

My note thanking one and all appears to have gone astray so thanks again. My daughter gets access to Ancestry at our local library but we are restricted to one hour sessions so our searches are not completed as well as we would wish. Our visit yesterday produced another query and help would be welcome.
We found Leonard's WW1 medal card. There are two different colour inks, one for his RGA service and the other for Royal Engineers Tyne E E. On the card it says Reduced Misconduct 6A (not sure of date) and indeed he became a Pioneer having been a Bombardier from 3/1/17. We thought 6A was to do with his age though he was over 30 when he enlisted. In April 18 he was invalided to England.
Just thought I'd post these so that people who might know some answers can see them.

Thanks Mary - Excellent copies. Writing on card is clear but this is not the case with the list. Can members with good eyesight let me know what it says if they can. Thanks

I'm afraid my 'something' was wrong... in light of Bert's post of pension details it looks like he went to the Western Front. I had hoped that there might be a Lawrence of Arabia connection!
