If you look at the naming of the children, 3 with Jane Rankin, Mary, Sarah , James Benjamin,
JB after his father and of course himself, Mary after Jane's mother. His marriage to Alice Langton produced William, Alice's fathers name, it leaves Sarah, possibly JBs mother.

Perhaps a long shot, when the time comes to have a punt using DSs method of ordering, it might be worth using James Benjamin and Sarah as parents.
