Hi Droid
Number 1 house number 1 Court may not have been off number 1 Blackstone St.
Some of the enumerators didn't do the courts I've been told.
Did you find Wm Ruddy in 19@@ census at all, or his family??
No help in Gores/Kellys 1911 for street, don't know his father's name so can't help looking under Ruddy.

Hi Droid,
What was William Ruddy's date of birth and do you have him in any census? Do you have his father's name [also William?]?
If the William Katie found in the NA records is the right man, bn Seaforth, abt 1893, then in 19** he seems to be here, in the Army:
RUDDY, William - u/m - 21 - 1890 - Soldier, gunner - bn Seaforth.
Address: 19 Brigade Royal Field Artillery, Tempe, Orange Free State, SA.
This matches an entry in 1901:
RUDDY, William - Head - Married - 49 - 1852 - Dock Labourer - Liverpool.
RUDDY, Rosina - Wife - 50 - 1851 - Manchester.
RUDDY, William - Son - u/m - 11 - 1890 - Seaforth, Lancashire.
Address: 46 Akenside Street, Bootle Cum Linacre, Lancs.
RG13 / Piece: 3463 / Folio:52 / Page:38.

Looked for a Mary Mullen in 19** hoping for a Blackstone St address without success. What was Mary's YoB and father's name/occupation?

1914 Gore's Directory
There are 4 names under Ruddy, but not William
James joiner 7 May Street Bootle
John 59 Aubrey Street E
John Henry insurance supt 6 Cheltenham Ave, Toxteth Park
Joseph postman 17 Redcar St, Anfield E
Nothing for Blackstone St, Court 1, but I don't think Courts seem to be recorded in directories, sorry not much help.
Cheers
Erika

1911 census shows a Rosina Ruddy of the right age in the right place
The military records (British Army Service Records) on
www.findmypast.co.uk show a William Ruddy of the right place. Might be worth a few credits to see them

If you READ my post it was about Rosina Ruddy in the 1911 census
I said
1911 census shows a Rosina Ruddy of the right age in the right place
You won't find William Rosina's husband in 1911 as according to Dickie Sam's post he's dead!
I'll leave it to others now.
