Hi I have been researching my family name Simeon and have found what I think is three families of Simeons that were/are in Liverpool and Bolton. My problem is trying to sort the families that seem to have been born around about the same time and have the same first names. I know that great grandfather x 3 was John Simeon 1781-1850 a Liverpool customs officer. He married Jane Bell 1790-1870. I am looking for a link to John & Jean. If I could get his parents and/or brothers & Sisters I may be able to link the families. Any help I would be grateful for.
My thanks and regards
George

John Simeon an officer in Customs married Jane Bell on 3 Jan 1803 at St peter Liverpool both of the parish.

In 1810 a John Simeon was listed in the Criminal Registers it's very faint but I think it says 5 mths and the crime was larceny. It might be worth looking in the newspapers to see if this is your John. This could account for the change of job as shown in the baptisms Linda found.

What is given as John's occupation on his death certificate and on any children's marriage certificates who married from 1837 onwards.

Where are the family in 1841?

Hi Hilary
My thanks. I have the marriage of John and Mary and details of their children but that is where it ends. I am unable to find where they were in 1841 with no census record. I did find that John was later recorded as being A custom office bookkeeper. This was in 1832. Thanks for the newspaper tip I will check that out.
My thanks & regards
George

Hi,
You have John Simeon's wife Jane Bell as 1803-1870, but there are twins Grace and Peter born in 1812 and even earlier, Ann Dec 1803. And haven't yet found her death in 1870. Have you posted the dates for their daughter Jane in error?

I think I have found Peter in 1841. You probably have this?
SIMEON, Peter - 30 - Labourer - Lancashire.
SIMEON, Ellen - 31 - Lancashire.
SIMEON, Mary - 8 - Lancashire.
SIMEON, Peter - 4 - Lancashire.
SIMEON, George - 2 - Lancashire.
GILL, Henry - 18 - Lancashire.
Address: Eccles Street, Liverpool.
RG number: HO107 - Piece:564 - Book/Folio:19/22 - Page:36

John Alexander was also baptised on the same date as Grace and Peter - I would suspect that the baptisms may have been a "job lot" sometimes they were saved up to save on costs. Lucky the date of birth was given.

Hi
thanks for you interest and pointing out my error.Jane Bell was born in 1790 and died 1870.She married John Simeon on Jan.3rd 1803. Their twins Grace & Peter were born Apr.29th 1812 with Grace passing away shortly after birth.
Yes I have the 1841 census info.
What i really need is John's parents and brothers & sisters. I have hit a wall there.
My thanks and regards
