Travel records to Ireland from Liverpool

Can anyone tell me if it is possible to find travel records of ancestors who travelled from Liverpool to Ireland around 1900 and back again?
Would they have travelled on a ship bound for Ireland or would Ireland have been a stop over on the way to America or Canada?
Any help would be most appreciated.
Thanks
Diane

Sorry, there are no passenger lists. People travelled on ferries between Ireland and England, Wales and Scotland but as all of Ireland was part of the UK at the time it was not seen as overseas travel and no lists kept.

Hi Diane
Findmypast have outgoing passenger lists for the time you are looking for.
Perhaps post a name and we can have a squizz, the lists are only for shipping to other countries and not Ireland as mentioned by E.O

Hi Diane,
As Tina suggests, post a name, age and approximate year in case your 'travellers' carried on 'travelling'. Also, if the travel to/from Ireland was in a census year you might find them in Ireland in April 1901 or 1911. Both Irish censuses are free at
