LYONS family, West Derby

Hi,

Im hoping someone can help. I have been trying to research my grandfathers family tree but without any luck. My grandfather never spoke about his family so am very keen to find out what I can about his family.
My grandfather William Lyons was born in November 2011 in West Derby Lancashire. We know that his father was also called William Lyons and was born in 1883 (liverpool/west derby). When my grandfather was alive he never spoke of his family but from my research I have found out that he had 3 Uncles and 4 Aunts all born in Liverpool/West Derby. Their names were: Thomas 1885, Maria 1887, Denis 1889, Kate (Mary) 1891, Lucy 1893/4, Edward 1895/6 and Margaret 1898. I have managed to go a bit further back and I know who their parents were and their aunts and uncles. One aunt being married to the 1st mayor of Grand Saline Texas but that is all I can find.
I would really like to know (and so would my mother) what happened to my grandfathers aunts and uncles. From the 1911 census i know that their parents william and maria lyons had both passed away (confirmed with the death register) and that they were living at 66 Granton Road, Everton, Liverpool, West Derby. Hea of the household was the older brother Thomas. Denis is nt at home but I am unable to find him anywhere else in the UK also so maybe he went abroad?! Since then I have been unable to find any marriage or deaths for any of the 3 uncles and 4 aunts.

Any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks

Denis Lyons carter 2 East Street Waterloo
Sorry Erika, this one was born London Westminster and was born about 1877, so the wrong one.

Well spotted Mary

The same 1914 Directory has William Lyons at 66 Granton Road, he must have been the eldest brother, b 1883

Pity it doesn't list other family members only the head.

On www.lancashirebmd.org.uk there's a Lucy Lyons marrying Richard O Jones at Walton St Mary in 1922

A Maria Lyons married Charles Mclean at St Cuthbert Everton in 1922.

Totally irrelevant but I thought Granton Street was familiar Grandad lived at 181 in 1891.

thanks, yes i had noticed those marriages as possibilities. If that is them i cant find any children for them so i guess that could explain why we never heard about them.

Have also found a baptism for a Denis Lyons, was mother Maria's maiden name Sheridan?
Born 5th Dec 1888, baptised 25th Dec 1888 at Our Lady of Immaculate Conception.

Not really relevant, but maybe something

There was also a death for Denis Lyons in 1955, but that could be the one I found originally that Mary said was born in London

Following on from the marriage Hilary found for Maria there was a birth registered in Dec qtr 1923 in West Derby for a Maria D McLean
There are also a lot of Jones/Lyons births too

yes thanks, I've just been looking at thos marriages and the Maria Lyons to a Mclean does look likely with them having a child in 1923 who then appears to marry a george cumby in 1947 liverpool north. I may have to order the marriage certificate for the 1922 marriage to confirm.
