Everton Schools

Good Morning,
I am a member of Manchester LHS membership No 18450; and I seek help in tracing a family member.

From the 1911 Census, James Edward Davenport aged 9, was residing at 6 Copeland Street Everton.

Is it possible to find which schools he attended fro 1911 onwards?

Regards

Syd Rowson

I believe Joyce, one of the founders of our Society, put together a list of schools registers, together with the dates applicable, that are held by the Liverpool Record Office.

Our Webmaster has been updating our website and is still working his way through everything, including making this database available as one of the Liverpool Group projects, however following your enquiry he is working on uploading this as we speak. Either him or I will come back and put a link to this when it is ready.

I would start by checking the records in Liverpool Record Ofice of the two nearest primary schools to Copeland St, one is St Georges Church of England school and the other is Heyworth St school which, if my memory serves me right, was on the corner of Copeland St and Heyworth St. There were however a large number of schools in the Everton area.
