Looks like Kilimanham so would suggest Kilmainham with dot in the wrong place, although blast I just found that is in Ireland. Still looking.

This image is from the Harvey family on the 1871 Census. Ancestry have them as Hamer but it should be Harvey I've submitted alternative names. I got FMP to put their spelling right a while ago. The original image is really feint. I have all the English Census records for the family. The father and a brother appear with William and Ann's family on the 1861 Census.

The father's birthplace could be in Ayrshire. There is a possible Scottish Census record showing them in Ayrshire in 1841 with only the father born in the county. There is a baptism in Kilwinning, Ayrshire in 1807 that could be the father. Date of birth says 25 Nov 1807. Could the birthplace on the Census record be a poorly written attempt at Kilwinning Ayrshire?

Hi Blue
The surname alteration hasn't appeared in Anc, still as Hamer, birthplace Kilinamham.
The others have Scotland although no ditto, but not the father.
I can't make out what the word is before, perhaps a repeat of Scotland.
What a puzzle.
In 1861 he's born Scotland.

Hi Tina

I submitted the Hamer/Harvey alternative name the other day so it will probably be a while before Ancestry make it visible. Both 1861 and 1871 Census records for William Harvey Senior have him born about 1808. A baptism search on Family Search for around this time produces only two possibles with a Kil prefix. One of these has a middle name of Robertson that makes it unlikely the other one was born in Kilwinning, Ayrshire. It's not far from the Saltcoats/Stevenston area where I think the family were living in 1841. Despite this I still can't make out Kilwinning Ayrshire in that original image.
