Hi,
The particular entry states by a handwritten notation that he "Disappeared at sea. Supposed drowned". Without a body a Death Cert could not normally be issued until after a period of 7 years had elapsed and then only following an official declaration by a Court that he was deceased, known as a Benjamin Order. Going to court to obtain such an order could be prohibitive unless there was a substantial estate involved. http://www.probertencyclopaedia.com/A_B ... _ORDER.HTM

From the GRO entry:
Occupation: Fireman [aka stoker]
Home address: 32 Gt Clarence Street, Dublin.

Because the death is recorded in the England GRO Death Index you would normally apply to the GRO in Southport for the cert using the reference information given [BT334 register of deaths at sea; Box 0040; Page 15] and that is what I suggest you do.

There are 2 deaths in 1907 for a John McGee in the Irish Index at https://www.familysearch.org/
both aged 43 but neither have a Registration District stated which is very unusual. One [or both] entries could refer to your John.
1) Death: John McGee
registration district:
Registration quarter and year: 1907
estimated birth year: 1864
age (at death): 43
volume number:
page number: 27

2) Death: John McGee
registration district:
registration quarter and year: 1907
estimated birth year: 1864
age (at death): 43
volume number:
page number: 59

Ordering certs from the Irish GRO cannot be done online. You have to download the application form and send it back [post or fax] with the respective payment. If you specify a photocopy [exactly the same as a normal certified copy but of no legal standing] it will only cost you 6 Euro [abt £4.75].
