Hi all
Help please! I bought cd of bmd's for St Albans Church Warrington only to find that while the baptism registers are there for the years 1843 through to 1851, the actual baptism details are not!.. They start at 1856..very frustrating! Ah well never mind, onwards and upwards as they say. Anyhow can anyone tell me if the said records are available at the church or the local library? Also where would I need to visit to gain access to records for St Marys Church Warrington? Hope someone will point me in the right direction.

A telephone call to the library provided the following answers.

Baptisms for St Albans between 1774 and 1855 are held at Warrington Library, however anything later should still be at the church, as it is RC they are often reluctant to part with their registers.

As they don't have anything for St Mary's they are probably again still with the church.

I would suggest contacting the church to ask the information you require, hinting about a donation for results.

I'll try phoning St Mary's Church, and a visit to Warrington Library is on the cards! Meantime I'll let you know how I get on as regards St Marys registers....
