Where were they married?

Looking to trace where great grandparents (Thomas NEWTON & Margaret CONNOR) married in Toxteth Park district in 1897. Notice the BMD shows "Register Office or Registrar attended". Know that he was a shipwright (1901 Census confirms this) & that he was a Ship's Carpenter who went to sea (1911 Census confirms this). Upto now have not been able to find anything on parish records.
Would appreciate any guidance or is the only option to order the MC?
Thanks.

Hi
Welcome to the forum. It will be either at the registry office or at a non C of E church. It doesn't appear to be an RC marriage. You would need to purchase the certificate to find out.
