I wonder if any one can help ?

My paternal grandparents. Buried at Smithdown Road but the stone alas seems to have gone. It had all their details on, and a photograph of the grave has been mislaid.

My nanna died around 1961-3, I think. (I remember her burial but not sure of the exact year.) She was in her 70s at this time.

Her last address was Charlecote St in the Dingle.

Others are buried with them or mentioned on the gravestone, including a relative Furby.

My grandad had died before I was born.

Their children, surviving infancy are Nelly, Arthur, Mary and Stanley.

I do find the situation at the cemetery perplexing but don't get there often due to the distance.

Thanks so much DS and Blue. It is so moving to read these messages, and especially to see the inscription- it all comes back. I attended Mary Ellen's funeral- I remember being at the graveside. I'd have been 13.

I hadnt thought of it till now- but I wonder why no mention of Laurence Thomson's wife and Nana's mam ?

She was Ellen nee Williams, born Caernarfon, and came to Liverpool as serving girl in one of the big houses at around age 7 or 9, I believe.

I did nt know Margaret Furby died after childbirth, or that there was a baby. Buried with her I see.
I know so little about them I realise.

Laurence's wife was ellen nee Williams. All I know is she was born Caernarfon and came to Liverpool age7 or so, servant in house in town.

I don t know name of Margaret FURBY's husband.

George & Mary Ellen had sons & daughters

Ellen / Nelly, married John ROWLNDS of Anglsea. They lived Moreton, Wirral - 59 Bermuda Rd until 1960s or 70s.

Jimmy Roberts maried Jean. last address Kingshead Close, Castlefields, Runcorn. jean died 1995 &
Jimmy 1996.

Arthur m. Eliza Jane nee Tweedie, my parents deceased

Mary married james BRANT dec Jan 2012

Stanley died WW2 buried Tunisia.
