Hi Stuart,
Welcome to the forum. The local newspaper doesn't give much detail about Peter's case and gets his name slightly wrong but there may be some information here that is new to you:-
Liverpool Mercury, Friday, January 22, 1819

Hi Stuart,
There are three criminal records for Peter on the Ancestry website you may have seen these documents. When the records mention both Liverpool and Lancaster the location is Liverpool. Lancaster or Lancashire is the county Liverpool is the town where the trial took place.

Peter arrived in Sydney 21.10.1819 aged 21yrs aboard the ship Grenada 1.
Good news, he got his certificate of Freedom 7.10.1841 birthplace Lpool 1798.
There's a baptism at St Nicks 1.1.1799 (born 19 Nov 1798) father James Durham, hair dresser
at Peter St, mother Eleanor nee Holloand.
Not sure if your Peter.
Cheers
Tina
For those who don't know, these convicts were held in hulk prison ships, sometimes for months before they
boarded a ship to Australia. In terrible conditions.
Peter was moored off Woolwich aboard on the Retribution, 1819.

It could have been worse if he'd stolen a pair of drawers.
