I am looking to find the burial of Michael Gaughan/Gough. He died 27 Apr 1881 in the Walton Workhouse, Rice Lane, West Derby, Liverpool at the age of about 70 and was supposedly born in Ireland but spent time in Flintshire and Denbighshire. Can someone please go to the Liverpool RC and find the burial records of the Walton Workhouse for me, please? Travelling there is not an option for me. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you very much!

Hi and welcome to the forum.
Burial records would be of the cemetery where the burial took place, not of the Workhouse.
Even though he may have died in the Walton Workhouse, this may actually refer to the Infirmary where he may have been ill rather than the actual Workhouse.
Where his burial took place could depend on whether the family arranged for the burial, and also possibly what religion he was. The majority of Workhouse burials took place in Walton Park Cemetery, these burials are available on Ancestry, however at the date you give, I don't see him listed.
Can someone please go to the Liverpool RC and find the burial records of the Walton Workhouse for me, please?
If you wished the Workhouse Records to be researched it would depend on whether they were on microfilm for the date in question or in document form, the latter are temporarily unavailable until Spring when they will again be available in the newly refurbished Record Office. If you wished to arrange for a private researcher to take the matter further, don't hesitate to contact us as I would be able to make a recommendation for somebody reliable at reasonable rates.

I googled "the workhouse rice lane" and it came up with "the workhouse in west derby Lancashire"
If you scroll to bottom of page after all of the hospital photographs etc there is a link for the 1881 census for staff and inmates.
If you use the
www.etc for some reason the page is not found.
Best Regards
Allan
