Hi All,
Another year and time to have yet another go attacking a long standing brick wall, hope someone can help me.

Margaret Fearance,spelt various ways, including Fearnes,born 1851,Caernarvan,to George/Elizabeth Fearance ,Llanbeblig, Caernarvan,and marrying, 1872, St Nicholas Church,Liverpool,address given ,Key Street,Liverpool.
Bridegroom Thomas Williams, born 1845,Aberffraw,Anglesey,he is a mariner in Royal Navy, his address is also Key Street,is this Quay Street as we know it now,or Key Street elsewhere.

What I can,t find is either of them in,1861, 1871,1881,census,in 1891,1901,they are living at 12,Beach Row,Llanfair is Gaer,Port Dinorwick,Caernarvon,after that, on 1911 census, 181,Fonthill Road,Kirkdale,Liverpool,Lancs
Where are they 1861/71/81,or at least her.

Happy New Year to all.

Hi Tsumi,
The couple had at least 3 children, John [abt 1884], Jane [abt 1887] and Anna [abt 1890], all born Port Dinorwic. It looks as though the family home was in the Port Dinorwic area until the father retired and became an RNR pensioner and seems to have retired to Liverpool after 1901, bringing those now adult children with them.

Being in the RN means he would not appear in any of the early censuses if his ship was outside British waters.

Hi ,
Yes I have all of the census that you have found including the daughter Margaret E who married a William Jones in 1896,she must have taken over the family home and stayed in Caernarvan .
The other older children,John ,Jane,Anna went to live according to 1911,census,181,Fonthill Road,Kirkdale,Liverpool, with their parents. Elizabeth married John Edwards,1905,St Nicholas Church,Liverpool.

There are a lot of Caernarfonshire Parish Registers in the Welsh Collection on Find my Past. Maybe if you could find the children's baptisms that would help identify addresses at census times.

Also as some of the sons seem to go to sea it would be worth looking at the Merchant Seamen Records on Find my Past to see if they are there. You may even get a photo!

There are 2 MN records for a John Williams bn abt 1884 from Port Dinorwic.
a) John Evan W bn 21 Feb 1886, and
b) John Richard W bn 5 Nov 1884.

You need an actual date of birth to select one or reject them. Have to say John Richard has a magnificient moustache!
