My relative, Charlie Calder was the minister of the Baptist church in Warrington Rd, Rainhill in the 1950's. I gather it was later a Salvation Army office and has now sadly been demolished. Does anyone remember this church or have a picture of it please?

Hi and welcome to the forum. I have asked somebody from our Warrington Group to look at your query and perhaps ask at the next meeting to see if anybody could help.

thank you. I'm told now the church site is now occupied by a new Salvation Army building - its at 160 Warrington Rd. And it was called Bethel Baptist church. Opened 1950.
I'm hoping to see a pic of the former church.

Unless somebody happened to have a copy in their own photograph album your best place to enquire would be the Warrington Library where the archives would be held.

Just remebered Rainhill have a Civic Society and a Woman's Guild I'll see if I can get some contact details. Also St. Helen's may be worth a shot.
