I am researching a Annie Rosser Rogers who was a nurse at the Royal Infirmary, Brownlow St, Mount Pleasant, Liverpool according to the 1881 English Census and I was trying to find out where I would get her personal record from. She was born in Llanelly, Breconshire, Wales around 1842 and I am trying to find our who her parents were.

Thanks and yes i had ordered that but was told that the Rogers did not marry the Rosser. I think the joining of the names is a few generations back.

Yes, have this also and it says father John - However, I have been unable to find birth or baptism records for either. I have found Annie's probate, and I am trying to get a copy of the will, due to her having named a William Rosser and on a 1911 census I found a Annie Rosser with a William Rosser as brother and Annie said that she had been a nurse. Wondered if he had dropped the Rogers. Thanks for all the help. Rhondda

Another entry that might be worth investigating, probably not the same family as those in my 1851 above

1861 Fosfach Newydd, Llanelly - this is just a coincidence.
There is a family by name of Rogers living next door to a 76 year old William Rosser and his son William 48, together with grandson William Williams 23 and a grand-daughter Anne Rosser 18.

I am searching for similar info myself re Mill Rd Hospital and have had to write and gain permission from the NHS legal representative at the appointed trust.
I would think it doesnt apply here but the personal records ledger is kept 'closed' for 100 years after the LAST ENTRY in it. I would have thought that since 1891 there is a case for believing that to have expired by now but in the event it has not,in the case of personnel files/records of Nursing and auxiliary staff at Brownlow Hill (which I believe was a workhouse) you need to contact the 'Chief Executive,Royal Liverpool Uni & Broadgreen NHS trust,Prescot St,L78XP' and request access (or you may need to pay for their own archivist to search for you)

Wondering about the accuracy of that 1881 census 'place of birth' entry. LLanelly was in the former county of Carmarthenshire, while Brecon was in the county of Brecknockshire.

If the John Rosser Rogers that Bert found was born in Llanelly [Carmarthenshire] abt 1844, there is only one birth in Carmarthenshire that 'almost' fits....

Then there's this birth, also registered in Carmarthen...

It is possible that the name Rosser was 'adopted' as the result of being in receipt of an inheritance from a Rosser benefactor, perhaps a condition in a Rosser will. I have come across a similar name-addition before as a result of being a beneficiary.
