Can anyone tell me if 1 Boundary place was listed as a private dwelling or business address? This is where the Royal Hospital is now.

Many thanks,

In 1901 #s 1 to 5 were a single property, a public house.
Address: 1to 5, Boundary Place, West Derby; RG13 Piece: 3492 Folio: 97 Page: 1

The address isn't listed in the enumerator's 'walk' in the following census. The list starts at #7, a tobacconist and newsagents. It isn't shown as unoccupied which suggests the building was no longer there or derelict.

If it is the same Boundary Place - and there is another off Collingwood Street - then the 1891 census lists only a couple of dwellings and they are even numbers.

What was your ancestor's name?

That address was a public house in 1891....

Found the other Boundary Place in 1881. #1 is occupied by the Cassidy family.
RG11 - 3593 - 115 - 82.

As MaryA says, it isn't listed in 1891. And in 1901 only #6 is listed, as a confectioners' shop.

Thanks all.

Thinking about it i'm not sure which boundary place it could be. In 1891 she lived in Pellew Street. Her name was Bridget McDonough, nee Dolan. I didn't realise there was one off collingwood street too!

Hi,
A clue as to which location might be in her death registration...
Death: MCDONOUGH, Bridget
Registration district: Liverpool
Year of registration: 1892; Mar qtr
Age at death: 60
Volume no: 8B; Page no: 12

From the census information the Robin Hood pub was in the West Derby 'district' whereas the other address was in the Liverpool 'district'. My bet would be on the latter off Collingwood Street.
