I have 2 burial records (Anc)

Rose Singleton, aged 9, buried, 12, Jan, 1876, Walton Park, Reference Number, 283/Wal/4/2/5

William Singleton, aged 32, buried, 27 Oct, 1876, Walton Park, Reference Number, 283/Wal/4/2/6

Referring to the Reference Number, would that be, same plot, next to each other or just same area?

Found another Singleton burial,

George Herbert Singleton, aged 4, buried 1874, Walton Park, reference number, 283/Wal/4/2/5

Same reference number as Rose, are Rose and George Herbert together with having the same reference number and William next door perhaps, reference number, 283/Wal/4/2/6.....?

I think the reference numbers that begin with 283 WAL refer to the Record Office cataloging.

On the actual image the information is given about the grave site as far as I can see for instance

Anne Jane Singleton has an address 17 French Place age 32 years burial 16 January 1876 and G219 written beside the entry which I imagine refers to the grave number

I can confirm that 283/WAL relates to the Walton Parochial Cemetery. http://archive.liverpool.gov.uk/CalmVie ... +WAL&pos=1

The remainder of the numbers ie /4/2/... merely relate to the individual film numbers.

Sorry to disappoint Bertie but perhaps the images themselves give more clues. Also Vicmar took a couple of pictures recently which we put on the Burials, Graves & MI'spost of the board outside the Cemetery

I've had blurred images all day on my version of Anc, will look as soon as they clear and are back to normal.

I've noticed that with Ancestry the last few days, seems like their broadband isn't quite up to par.

System restore sorted the problem, so, onward and upward.
Or, should that be onward and downward, when looking for burials.

I was once told to "always kill off your ancestors". Not as criminal as it may sound but just to always try to ascertain the death, certificate also maybe, obituary and burial.

This advice has worked wonders for me recently as it has taken a long time to discover my great grandmother's grave, she died in Oxton, Wirral in 1915 but having investigated Flaybrick and a number of churches without success. Should have looked at the newspaper first of all as the entry told me that she had been "nurse to the family .... for many years" and that the burial was to be in a Church in Liverpool - very unexpected. But when I went to see the grave, expecting a grassy mount which is probably all that her son would have been able to afford, there was a lovely cross and stone beneath with her name and dates on. It was a very moving moment, especially as she must have been thought a lot of by the family she worked for as I can only assume it was them who paid for it all.

Now just got a job on my hands discovering who owns the grave as it's thrown another name into the mix.
