Garner baptism - 1882 to 1890

Post by dickiesam »

From the 1891 census, I know the father of these children was a Thomas Garner, but I need the mother's name. I believe it could be Ellen or Martha, both of whom had died before that census.

The one birth I am certain of is...
Birth Sep 1889: Garner, Samuel - Toxteth Park 8b 176
Can anyone spot his baptism?

He had siblings who may or may not have been registered in Toxteth..
Bn abt 1882: Garner, Ellen
Bn abt 1883: Garner, Margaret Emma
Bn abt1886: Garner, Hannah
Bn abt 1888: Garner, Thomas

Lancs OPC have two of the above 4, but not Samuel.

Hi DS

Samuel Garner was born on 18 June 1889 and baptised on 18 September 1889 at St Thomas C of E church Toxteth. Parents were Thomas and Ellen Garner. Father was a Dock Labourer. Address looks like 6 Guest Street.

.
DS,
is the above date a typo, Ellen, 57 years old, Wife, still with Thomas 1901,

source citation gone AWOL on Anc, REf number, RG13 3429. Page 24
Or did he remarry another Ellen?

Yes Bert, he did indeed marry another Ellen! And when she died in 1908 he married Louisa Brown in 1910!

And, thanks to all for the confirmation of my hunch that the mother was Ellen.
