The family notice for the death of David Henry Noble in Dec 1918 states that he was the organist of St Helens Wesleyan Church.

Can anyone enlighten me as to which church this would have been?

According to Genuki, there were/are 3 Wesleyan churches, St Helens, Corporation St, Park Rd, Tontine St.
If David's last address was Speakman Rd (Anc, Probate) the nearest to his home was Corporation St.

Tontine Street is the only Wesleyan Methodist chapel listed on Lancs OPC St Helens. There are baptisms on the site for the early 1800s so it was an old place of worship. Looking on Old Maps UK the chapel on Tontine Street was no longer in use by the end of the 19th century so that chapel can be eliminated as a possibility. The chapels on Corporation Street and Park Road are on maps for the early 1900s. Corporation Street is more central St Helens so more likely location.

Thanks for the suggestions, Corporation Street does seem likely as I think being so close to the Town Hall it would have been known as 'the' St Helens Wesleyan Church. Plus I know it had an organ (found an interior photo on the St Helens archive website)
Tontine St is another possibility, if I'm right in thinking Tontine St was under where the Church Rd shopping bit is now and photos of the exterior show it was large enough to have an organ.

I stumbled across the St Helens Connect forum too so I'll give them a try.
