Ok the search continues down this line I now have.... I have the following details for my Great Aunt May:
- Born May Gee 24Dec1891
- Parents were Benjamin and Annie Gee married 03Mar1887 @ Toxteth
- Baptised 07Feb1892 @ Princes Park, St Pauls (Toxteth??)
- Married David Howard MORRIS (shipwright) 28Mar1914
- Had two children Ivy b. 1914 (@Liverpool??) and Georgina May b. 02Jan1915 @ Devonport
- She passed away 16Mar1934 at Broadgreen Sanatorium, Liverpool
Now of her children I know the following:
Ivy – not too much apart from might have married a William Fraser in 1936 in Bootle (Liverpool??)
Georgina May – married David Ronald Rogers in 1936 in Fazakerley (Liverpool) and they had 4 ? children. Georgina passed away 22Nov2011 and placed in Warrington Cemetary, Cheshire.
Can I have confirmation on the following please:
Ivy – her actual date/place of birth (suspect it may be a close match to marriage date) and details of children from her marriage to William (if it was him)?
Georgina – details of the children from her marriage to David?
Appreciated, Pete

The 1914 birth of Ivy Morris, West Derby had a mother, Malvern, 8b 670.
A Ivy Morris born Oldham 1914, mothers name Gee, 8d 1329 is a possible, If her father David was carrying out his trade as Shipwright at that time, I doubt it would be in Oldham, perhaps he wasn't with them, birth cert required I think.

Hello Pete,
Re:

To get her actual place of birth as opposed to the District Register Office where her birth was registered you need to get her birth cert from the GRO
http://www.gro.gov.uk/gro/content/certificates/
As Bert pointed out that Liverpool birth was to a mother maiden name Malvern:
Births Jun qtr 1914: MORRIS, Ivy [nee Malvern] - W Derby 8b 670
Probably to this marriage:
Marriages Dec qtr 1910: Morris, Thomas [25] and Malvern, Sarah Anne [23] - W. Derby 8b 418
You have a choice of two Ivy Morris nee Gee births from 1912 to 1925...
Births Sep qtr 1914: Morris, Ivy [nee Gee] - Oldham 8d 1329
and,
Births Sep qtr 1915: Morris Ivy [nee Gee] - Nottingham 7b 640
If you go for the birth cert, in your application to the GRO answer No in the box where you are asked if the GRO references [District, Volume, Page etc] are known but specify the year 1914. A new page will open for you to enter the parents' names.

If Georgina May's birth of 2 Jan 1915 is correct, it doesn't fill me with confidence that either the Oldham or Nottingham births belong to David & May. Following DS's suggestion, at least you will get your money back if not the correct parents.

I agree with Bert above and especially with his previous observation that assuming the father was working as a shipwright why was the birth registered in Oldham, a town not by the sea and not known for its shipbuilding skills?
Because of the closeness of the birth of Georgina May in the following March qtr, it is possible Ivy could have been born before the marriage or very soon after and the registration was, for some reason, delayed. If she was illegitimate that may be the reason for the Oldham registration, the birth having taken place there away from Ivy's 'home' ground.

Ok progress at last - this is what I now have:
There was only one daughter Georgina May MORRIS b.02Jan1915 d.Nov2011
and she was married to David Ronald ROGERS 3rdQ 1936 at Fazakerley, Liverpool. They had two sons:
- George O Rogers b 4Q 1937 in Liverpool North
- David Rogers b 2Q 1939 in Liverpool North
George went on to marry Anne Clintworth 3Q 1959 and they had two children:
- Helen Annie Rogers b. 1Q 1966
- Stephen Andrew Rogers b. 3Q 1971
David went on to marry Brenda Brooks 4Q 1963 (or....) and they had at least two children I know of:
- Tony Rogers b. 2Q 1965
- Steven Richard Rogers b. 2Q 1968
OR he married Jean E Whisker 3Q 1968 and they had two children I know of:
- Lisa Rogers b. 3Q 1969
- Colin Rogers b. 4Q 1974
Of the two potential wifes, they both match up by name and time and location so totally at a loss here as to which one (or both) to follow up on.
Any assistance on identifying which was actually David's wife would be great; and from that onleads on Davids and Georges children.
Appreciated,

The way to identify which is the correct David's marriage is to order the marriage certificate, stipulating that the father's name must be the one you state. You may need to order both with the same criteria but they will refund your money for the incorrect one.
I would prefer that you stop where you are on this forum as you are now in the realms of living people whose privacy we respect.
We have some suggestions for places to research here

As MaryA suggests the only way to identify the right marriage is to purchase the marriage certificate.
Other further research which might be useful is to spend some time on recent Electoral Rolls from 2000 on. The site
http://tracegenie.com/ will give you a full 24 hours access for £3.25 and it includes an YoB decade filter to reduce the hits. A possible hit could give you a contact address.

Morning all, just thought that I would follow up in here and mention the fact that I was successful with my search.
I contacted the Liverpool Echo and placed a small request in the Lost Pals column although the online LE didnt work so I emailed them directly. Not only did I get the info I was searching for, I now have direct contact with lost relatives.
Regards all.
