Hi, I've been recommended this site by 'Blue' of Roots chat. I haven't got much info but hope someone can help with a lookup for the Bootle Cemetery. Looking for John Edward Gerrard born 29th October 1884 died possibly in the 1950's onwards, and his wife Mary Ellen Gerrard born about 1888 and died possibly 1938. Marienne from Roots chat has ruled them out for the Yew and Ford cemetery. As I'm in South Wales I'm unable to check this out myself, so any advice or help would be much appreciated. Thanks

To possibly narrow down the search, there is a death for a John E Gerrard registered in Bootle in Dec quarter 1949, born about 1885.

Hi and welcome to the forum.

The most likely way to discover the burial places is from the Death entries in the Liverpool Echo.

Bootle Cemetery records are not online, they would be available at Crosby Library.

Either method would need a more specific date to search for, from the Death Certificate.

Bootle Cemetry records are held at the Thornton Garden of Rest. They are not held anywhere else. You can email them on
thornton.gardenofrest@sefton.gov.uk

They will tell you if the person is buried at Bootle Cemetery. If you have a date of death or a quarter it is usually easier. If you want to know who else is in the grave there is a fee. They will usually tell you if there is a gravestone and give a grave number.

My sincere thanks to everyone for helping me to find them.
