Thomas Oxley 3rd Dragoon Guards

I am trying to find out when Thomas Oxley died and also his wife's maiden name.
All I have is a death certificate of Ann Oxley. On the certificate it say's that Ann is the widow of Thomas Oxley, a private in the 3 Dragoon Guards.
Ann and her children were born in scotland in the census's but doesn't state where.
Elizabeth Oxley her daughter is my GG Grandmother and was born in 1838 but I have not yet been able to find her birth exactly.
With previous help from member's on this site I think I have found Ann and her children living in Glasgow (in the Garballs) in 1841, and in 1851 the family live in Warrington and Ann is widowed, the 1841 census doesn't state if she was widowed then so I'm pressuming Thomas must have died in between 1841 and 1851.
How can I find out any info on Thomas, surely there are some records of the 3rd Dragoon Guards around this era.
Any help is much apprieciated
Thanks Andrea

Hi it would be helpful if you could give the date of Ann's death and please give the reference for the Censuses you have for Ann and children so that we have a point of reference.
I'm not sure that there are any of those specific military records available on the two main subs sites, but have you checked the National Archives where you might have more luck?
Is it possible that Warrington featured in either barracks? or family earlier than you found them in 185? I was wondering about the death

Do you know that there is a Military Day at the Museum of Liverpool on 21st November. I don't know whether there will be anybody there who might know more of the wherabouts of the guards at the appropriate time but I would think it worthwhile going along to see.

Hi Mary,
Ann died on the 13th July 1867 in Prescot. At the time of her death she lived with her daughter and family at Wellington Street in Widnes. I was sent the 1841 census via Dickisam, Bertitone has put the link on to have a look,on the 1851 census the name is spelt wrong Oxly but the reference is HO 107 2203. I'm not sure how to add images?
Also thank you for signposting the military day in November, I will try my best to go and make the most of a nice day out with the Grand Kiddies
Simone, I have sent you a PM with my email, thank you very much.
I think this could be my Thomas Oxley and this is why the family moved to Warrington, maybe to get some support from the Thomas's family who lived in Warrington??
