William Evans and Ellen Owen

Hello to all who might be able to help. I have successfully to date traced nearly all of my great grandmothers immediate family in Anglesey except for two brothers including one named Wiliam who was born in Llanfinhangel Yscefiog, Gaerwen in 1828 the family were there for many years. He is shown in the 1841 census with the family and does not show after that date I have searched the death records etc but no luck.

Out of the blue a while ago I had mail via rootschat from a young lady in Australia in answer to enquiries I had made on their forum concerning my Welsh roots, ( I think some one from this forum answered her) her query was concerning her Gt Grandfather Wiliam Evans born the same year who ended up in Australia some time in the 1850s then married and was a lighthouse keeper at Cape Otway for many years and died at the age of 56 yrs in 1885. The one thing we have in common is that her William and my William both had parents named William Evans and Ellen Owen and William was a miner/collier in all census after 1841. The lady also feels her William went to Australia through work as a sailor, maybe this is why I can't find mine in census after 1841.

Her William has two certificates one marriage and one death and both show his parents were the same names and profession, the death certs over there are very detailed to show this information. So here I am checking all records again and wondering if any one can see anything I haven't . There are a number of William Evans born on Anglesey at approx the same period of time with the same parent names, I think the clincher is possibly fathers profession. I am going through all as I said but any other ideas would be a great help. In my mind I feel these Williams are one and the same person and the likeness of photos of William to my family are striking, all thoughts on this would be most welcome. Thanks to anyone who may want the challenge. Cheers L.B
