I have come across a female ancestor who was born in 1914 and married in 1933.
She had a son in 1936 and another in September 1937 both with a different surname to that of the man she married in 1933.
She married again in December Quarter 1937 to the man who has the name the two boys were registered with.
Is it possible to find out if she divorced her first husband and when?

You could check the National Archives where most divorces can be found, however, many of them are on Ancestry now. Good luck

Check for newspaper reports of the divorce hearing(s).

A lot of people back then didn't bother divorcing what does it say on the second marriage record? It might mention the divorce although some people who said they were divorced had'nt actually divorced. To find out for sure you'll need to pay for a search see the link below:-

You may find the divorce record on http://discovery.nationalarchives.gov.uk/. That is where I found the record of my Aunt's divorce in 1921. I just typed in her full (then) married name and there she was.
