Hi all, just doing some research on FreeBMD and came up with 2 people showing as registered in Mar and Sep 1922.
Mar: Thomas Bowden married Maud Jelliman W Derby 8b 666
Sep: Thomas Bowden married Maud W Jelliman W Derby 8b 460.
Seems rather strange!

BOWDEN Thomas JELLIMAN Maud West Derby, Register Office or Registrar Attended Liverpool
BOWDEN Thomas JELLIMAN Maud W Edge Hill, St. Cyprian Liverpool
One was catholic and the other C of E ?
I thought the second marriage would have to be a blessing?

Unfortunately the online entries for C of E churches only go up to 1921, just the one year out. Do you need the image from St Cyprians?

Hi both, thanks for the replies. No need for images but thanks for the offer Mary.
maybe it was a Catholic and C of E registration?

I would suspect one was of each religion so they married in both for the sake of families, it could be in that case that there may be an adult baptism for one of them.

I had a couple who married twice, once in Liverpool and once in Ormskirk. After a long time I found a will and it stated that the wife would only inherit if she had married in the family parish , Ormskirk, so that accounted for the second marriage.
