Whatever happened to Eileen Eugenie Ryan

Hi All
I have a little mystery which I am needing a bit of guidance with!!
Eileen Eugenie Owen was born on 21 Feb 1912 to Samuel Owen and Mary Owen ms Bannon in Liverpool
She married Percival Arthur Ryan on 20 November 1930 at The Register Office, Liverpool
Their daughter Maureen Annette Ryan was born on 3 Dec 1930 at 126 Smithdown Road, Liverpool
So far so good, then the mystery starts.
In 1951 Maureen marries Angus Eric McKenzie in Huyton
By this time she is known as Maureen Annette Ryan PARRY and her father is given as John Parry, lorry driver on her marriage cert
Now Eileen Eugenie has many siblings and her sister Annie Lilian Owen married John Parry a brewer's motor lorry driver on 7 June 1928.
When Annie Lilian Parry dies in 1973 her informant on her death certificate is Maureen McKenzie and qualification is DAUGHTER
In 1950 I have found a marriage for a Percival Arthur Ryan to a Nellie A Edwards in Liverpool
I received a death cert today for a Eileen E Ryan which is the only one I have found in the deaths register, which is not her.
1940 in Edmonton 3a 1350
I presumed she must have died or run off and left Maureen Annette with Percival and he couldn't cope,so her sister and husband took Maureen Annette in and maybe adopted her at some point.
So my problem is what happened to Eileen Eugenie? Has anyone any ideas what I can do next?
Would be grateful for any suggestions
Cheers
Erika

Erika,
There's a marriage, Eileen E Ryan/George Gray, 1941, Liverpool S
I can't open it, on the 39 register, a search for Eileen Eugenie and date of birth, 21 2 1912, produces Eileen Gray and George Gray.

Oooh, thanks Bert, that sounds promising.
I'll try looking for a divorce on the Archives website which someone posted the other day.
But why did Maureen end up with Eileen's sister?
Cheers

IN 1939 they are living in 9 Church Road, George Gray's date of birth is 2 February 1914 and he's a cafe proprietor. Eileen - unpaid domestic duties and there is also Albert Constable, dob 2 February 1918, occupation Motor Driver Heavy.
I know there are many Church Roads, so this is the map from the site.

Thanks Mary.
Just checked the electoral register and found them at Church Road in 1939,will look for later years too.
Seems I'll have to get that marriage cert that Bert found to be certain.
No sign of a divorce though on the Archives
Funny about Maureen though.
Thanks again
Cheers

Thank you Mary, that would be kind.
Found George at Church Road in 1945 , but not Eileen in the Electoral Registers.

In case you hadn't realised, this is St Catherine's Abercromby Square not the Edge Hill one. I can't quite make out the occupation of the spouse so I've enlarged it to see if it helps. Transfer number 7922904 Royal ???? Corps

Reconnaissance Corps?
It looks like with Eileen Eugenie declaring herself a spinster, father's name has been recorded as Samuel Ryan instead of Owen.

Hi Mary
Thank you so much for that cert.
It is definitely her, but so many untruths!!
Her father was a bricksetter, Samuel Owen.
Patricia Stevens was a relative.
But did she ever divorce Percival Arthur Ryan?
The plot thickens!!
Also thank you Bert for your sharp eyes on the occupation, but could it be Royal ? Corps?
Cheers

Erika,
Yes, Royal Reconnaissance Corps, I didn't include Royal because that's clear enough.
I don't think there was a divorce, if there was she could have described herself as? other than spinster and given her father his true name, Owen.

Sorry Bert, me just being very dim when it comes to military matters
So a little bigamist in the family, naughty girl.
Patricia Stevens was her sister, married the previous year and lived in Myrtle Gardens with her brother previously
I'll send for the death cert you found tho, could have another clue on there.

I wonder what was entered on Mr Ryan's second marriage certificate with Nellie?

Oh gosh, hadn't thought about him. Seeing as their daughter Maureen didn't name him as her father on the marriage cert maybe he just wanted nothing more to do with any of them and probably put himself down as a bachelor.
As his marriage to Eileen only took place a short time before Maureen was born, he probably took off as quickly as possible afterwards!!!

Sorry to disagree but the regiment looks more like Royal Armoured Corps, where private soldiers were known as troopers. The Recce Corps was not Royal, I think, and the first initial of the second word is not the same as R in the first word!
