Hi.. Not sure where to put this post..but here goes...I know this seems a bit dim (well more than a bit)) I see so many 4th cousins etc on the various forums that it got me wondering... how I am related to my gt grandmothers/grandfathers brothers and sisters?

There are a number of charts on the internet that will show you this - here is one of them http://www.iroots.net/tools/cusncalc/ or this one looks better http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.anc ... chart.html

Also if you use a genealogy programme you can often appoint yourself as the root of the tree and add a column to your records to show the relationship of each person to yourself. I use Family Historian but I believe you can do similar in other programmes also.

If you have accerss to Genes Reunited and go to the 'Hot Matches' page there is a chart that will tell you how to work out how you are related.
