Family are in 1901, no sign of Wm A.
I've searched for him as Ford/Forte and various first names as Wm etc.

Hi Tina,
I may have found your man in 1901. But his name is William not Walter?
Check out his occupation. His father Richard is a shipping agent in 1901 and his brother Richard Percy is also a shipping clerk. I think that Annie bn abt 1878 could be Mary A in the earlier censuses.

WATT, Annie - Head - Widow - 35 - 1866 - Manchester, Lancashire
WATT, Ethel - Dtr - 6 - 1895 - Ashton, Lancashire
FORD, Annie - Niece - U/m - 23 - 1878 - Librarian (Free Library) - Manchester, Lancashire
FORD, William - Nephew - U/m - 19 - 1882 - Clerk (Shipping Warehouse) - Manchester, Lancashire
Address: 511 Collyhurst Road, Manchester.
RG13 - Piece: 3756 - Folio: 105 - Page: 22

Haven't worked out the Watt/Ford/Fort link yet though. Working on it! Richard Jones Fort's wife was a Richardson I think...
FORT, Richard Jones
Registration district: Manchester
Year/qtr of registration: 1871 / Apr-May-Jun
Volume no: 8D; Page no: 616.
Richard Jones Fort married either BARDSLEY, Elizabeth or RICHARDSON, Mary.

Edited to correct birth registration district for Ethel Watt, from Manchester to Ashton.
Births Mar 1895: Watt, Ethel - Ashton - 8d - 533

Now that's a puzzle, LancsBMD gives the marriage at Manchester, St. John between Mary Richardson and Richard J Fort or Richard J Jones.

I think the transcriber has made an error or thought there was an error in the GRO Index with that forename Jones. This from a FreeBMD search:

Search for:
Marriages, Surname: Jones - First name(s): Richard J
Start date: Jun 1871 - End date: Jun 1871 - County: Lancashire
Sorry, we found no matches.

A similar search on Findmypast also gave zero hits for the entire year. There isn't a 'Lancashire' Richard J Jones in the 1871 GRO Jun qtr Marriage Index.

Unless she was baptised as Amy Williamson Forte 26 Jul 1904 St Philip, Manchester parents Robert and Mary Elizabeth Forte - or is this muddying too much waters? - from familysearch.

Scrub that, the dates don't match, your Amy Louise's birth was Q1 1905 Chorlton 8c 780 but I don't see any Amy Williamson Forte in the birth indexes.

Unfortunately, I don't think this is our William :(

FreeBMD has a marriage for Robert Watt to Annie Kennedy Q3 1893 in Manchester (8d, 420). (This is the only marriage of an Ann/Annie to a Watt I can see.)

There is also a marriage for Thomas Ford to Emma Eliza Kennedy in Q1 1877 in Prestwich. In the 1881 census, Thomas and Emma Eliza are living in Manchester with 3 year old Annie.
