Hi Guys,
I have a strange problem, insomuch that I have two marriage dates for a James Ainsworth and Elizabeth Jones in Bebington on the 14th and 22nd of October 1787. Are they one and the same marriage or two different ones? Both records were taken from FreeSearch.org
Any help would be appreciated
Regards
Frank

Hi Frank,
I had something similar, though one was intention to marry, perhaps intention has not been transcribed on the earlier one.

At that date it was much more common to have either an Intention or a Licence and of course either or these might be just a short while before the actual marriage date.
