Vanishing grandma

My particular brick wall is my maternal grandmother. She was born in Jan.1897 and named Agnes Louisa Hale (mother's maiden name Langford) Agnes married my grandfather William Edgar in 1915 and they had 3 girls Mary Dorothea Aug. 1915, Eveline Margaret, Jan 1917, and Margaret Eileen April 1921. By 1924 Agnes had had enough and moved to London. I was told she was a telephone operator or possibly a postal worker. Agnes kept up contact with her children via a box no. at a post office on Holloway Rd London. A private detective who was engaged to find her couldn't track her down. I believe she died before William (Jan. 1957) I cannot find her death under any of the names she used, Hale, Watson, Langford or Edgar. I think she may have settled on the name Louisa Langford and although I've found a burial in London for a lady with this name I can't find a death registration. Does anyone know where I might try next? I use Find My Past as my chief research source by the way.

Deeji.

The only 'Louisa LANGFORD' death I can find in the London area (C1945-1957) was 82 Yrs old:

March Qtr 1948 (ref: Woolwich 5d 849).

If this is the one you found then she is not the one your looking for?.

A couple of possibles?

Death: LANGFORD, Louisa A
Registration district: Henley, Oxfordshire
Year of registration: 1960; Jun qtr
Age at death: 63
Volume no: 6B; Page no: 847

Death: LANGFORD, Louisa
Registration district: Birmingham, Warwickshire
Year of registration: 1965; Jun qtr
Age at death: 69
Volume no: 9C; Page no: 552

If you have William Edgar's death certificate does it say he was a widower and name his former spouse? And who was the informant? Do you have any idea of when Agnes' contact with her daughters ceased?

Hi and welcome to the forum. Please tell us where you found the burial and the date of it?

I wonder if it is possible whether there was another man involved, have you checked with the National Archives to see if there was a divorce?
