I think you will find the Southport newspapers at Crosby Library, there is a note here that I was given of their holdings.

thanks mary for the newspaper info , do you know of anybody with old photo archives of people from s/port . because of the rimmer connection and I think the ashworths were quite well known due to owning bakeries?

I think our Education Officer might know most about photograph archives for Southport but she isn't available for a couple of days, meanwhile I will try to ask another member to pop in and see if she knows the answer, again possibly this would be Crosby.

Did you also know that there is a Rimmer Society ? they often attend the family history fairs.

Hi
Crosby Library do hold the photographs of Southport that were originally held at Southport Local History. At the moment I can't tell you if they are indexed or what the photos are of. I would guess that they are mostly of buildings & places I don't know about individual people.

I will be at the help desk in Crosby Library on Friday so can ask about the photos. There could be a photo of the wedding the papers they were getting more common in the 1920's.

Have been into Crosby library today, the large collection of Southport photos are held there, they aren't indexed individually and there aren't many photos of individual people. You would need to go in and browse through them to see if there are of any that of interest.

I also had chance to look through the Southport Visitor newspaper there were no wedding photographs of Tom White's marriage in July of 1928.

thank you so much for doing those checks in Crosby . I couldn`t get there today due to family problems. it was very good of you to spend the time . I was thinking about Fredrick and emma s wedding in 1895 ? her being a Rimmer but I`v had no luck so far from the rimmer soc , keep hoping to see his face one day. thanks
