Williamson family from Yorkshire in Cumberland

Hi :D

Can anyone find anything further on this family?
1841 census, Workington Cumberland-- all born Yorkshire
HO107 Piece159 Folio 45 Page: 16
Gasworks
Richard Williamson 30 foreman, gas works
Ann Williamson 30
Wm Williamson 15
Elizth Williamson 15
Martha Williamson 10
Curnline Williamson 8 -- Caroline?

In 1851 I have a Jermiah Williamson born c 1826 living with the Davidson siblings at Workington. He is listed as their cousin. I have long wondered where he fits in.
HO107; Piece: 2435; Folio: 104; Page: 26
John Davidson 24
James Davidson 29
Elizabeth Davidson 26
Ann Davidson 19
Jermiah Williamson 25 blacksmith b workington

The parents of the Davidson's are William Davidson and Jessie Rule. Jessie's parents are James and Jane Rule, both b c 1780 who happen to be living next door to Richard Williamson and his family in 1841

I am wondering if Jermiah is a relation then on the Rule side of the family and maybe connected to Richard and Ann, but I can't find this family on later census etc :?

Fresh eyes greatly appreciated :D

Thanks

Simone x

James Rule 72 Cabinet maker employing 2 men, Scotland
Jane 67 Cumberland Torpankow??
Catharine 42 Cockermouth, Jane 28 Workington, Isabella 25 Workington, John 23 Cabinet Maker Workington and William Davidson Grandson 6 Scholar Lancashire Liverpool
Heck new Ancestry doesn't give me a button to show the Source - it's ok I found it now.

Thanks Mary :D

Yes, have that one. I have loads of info on the Davidson and Rule families  Jane was from Torpenhow.

Would just like to work out why Jermiah Williamson is a cousin :? He may not be related at all really

There is a Jeremiah/Jermiah son of David I think, born about the right time at Dewsbury died about 1893, but not so sure he is the right one :|

Wish I could find some more about Richard and family.

I looked at Jeremiah, son of David Williamson and Hannah (nee Newsome) this morning, assuming Jeremiah had to die sometime, his 1892 death aged 65 fits. His being the only one that does fit, searching deaths 1851/1920. Free BMD.

A newspaper report, December 1892, he fell down the cellar steps whilst drunk, he was a Tuner, perhaps that should be Turner.

He doesn't seem to be on any census with his family.

I think this family would be worth investigating, the age is a little out for the John he was "cousin" to but still could be him.

Thanks Bert :)

He seems to fit so nicely age wise doesn't he .
Think I'll have to go the long way round with this one !
Was hoping at least to find the marriage for Richard and Ann .. Saw possible Richard and Hannah in Yorkshire baptisms but children don't tie up, just one maybe for son William .
Can't even see what happened to Caroline and Martha :(

Something will turn up eventually

Just seen your post Mary , thanks ! Will have a go with them later :D

Thanks to you both for trying tho xxxxx

That seems more than just an enumerator's error then, what name did the family continue by? Perhaps it's the 1841 that was written wrongly.

And does that rule out Jeremiah being related?

Dunno Mary :( I'm non the wiser really
still seems coincidental that Jermiah Williamson living with the Davidson family in 1851, and a Williamson family from Yorkshire, next door to their grandparents in 1841.
Also there is a possible Jermiah Williamson b Yorkshire, the right age who I can't find in 1851, so is he the one with the Davidson family.

There are some Jeremiah Wilkinson's that fit age wise... may have to investigate them for a bit
