Naval ship HMS Alex or Alexander 1811

I have found out that my ancestor John Trevaskiss Born in Plymouth dock (Dartmouth)1785 was serving on Board when he married Ursulla Popla in Shetland I take it that the Ship was visiting and they married and he took her back to Plymouth then Bristol where he left the Marines 21 June 1814 having attested 17 June 1803 Bristol the Trevaskiss dynasty was born they moved to London where 5 children were born the first was Elizabeth Bapt. 27 Oct 1813 then to Liverpool (4 more Children) via Birmingham I am now trying to Find about his service in the Marines (1803 to 1814) where he was a Corporal and a Taylor can anyone help Please

How would John get his new wife back to Portsmouth 1811 .I don't think she would have been able to go on board with him so the Journey from Lerwick down there would have been fraught with danger if she traveled on her own

It is known that there were women "followers" who went along with their husbands/fiances etc. however it wouldn't be unknown for them to travel overland, horse and carriage perhaps?
